Besides the laboratory facilities, there are also a library and computer facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students and faculty members in the Department of Water Resources Engineering.


Departmental Library

In addition to the central library of the university, Department of Water Resources Engineering maintains a reference library to support undergraduate, postgraduate and faculty research.

The library is situated on the sixth floor (near to WRE Department’s Office) of the Civil Engineering building.

It has collection of books on various areas of Water Resources Engineering, management and development. Other materials like thesis papers, project reports, proceedings of conference, magazines and journals are also available. At present there are more than five thousand books, journals, theses and reports are available in the library.

Books and useful references are obtained through university and various linkage projects. Students can borrow these books for their education and research purposes. Arrangements are also made for the students to study in the library.

 

Computer Facilities

The department has its own computing facility for both students and faculty members. These facilities are administrated by the Department itself.

A large number of personal computers are available in the undergraduate Computer Laboratory of the department to make the students skilled in computer applications. In addition to the standard software, several specialized software in various fields of water resources engineering are available in the laboratory for the solution of water resources systems.

The laboratory serves the students in acquiring profound knowledge about simulation software, different types of designing software and programming language. The laboratory is also equipped with modern computer, multimedia projector and high speed internet connection.

Separate computer facilities are also provided for the postgraduate students of the department.
